Holiday Camps for Kids on Bikes
in Richmond, Surrey, UK

Teaching your children to cycle safely
The Kids' Bike Camp is the idea of a parent who struggled to teach her daughter to ride her bike without stabilisers and wished and wished for a camp just like this one to do it for her.
Although there were many wonderful camps for her child to join during school holidays, none offered cycle training for primary school aged children.  Using the outcomes delivered in the national Bikeability scheme (the Department for Transport's cycling proficiency for the 21st Century)  as a basis and having undergone training to become a National Standard  Instructor herself, a fun, practical, cycle training program has been developed to get children cycling independently and safely long before they are eligible to take part in the Bikeability courses delivered in schools in years 5 and 6.
You can bring your child on their bike with stabilisers still attached and they will take part in games and exercises designed to improve their balance and bike control.  Once they are ready, we will remove their extra wheels and help them to ride confidently and independently without them.
For those children who are already proficient on just two wheels, a series of enjoyable and challenging exercises will get them improving their skills, safety and practical bike knowledge and ready to ride on the roads or in the parks, all from the safety of the school grounds.
A whole morning is a long time to spend riding a bike, so there are also games and activities which take place off the bikes, designed to allow children to recharge their batteries and change their focus.
Small groups with a maximum of 6 children in each are taught by our Instructors under the hands on supervision of the National Standard Instructors.  A qualified first aider is always present and all members of staff are DBS/CRB checked.
